Back to school 5 simple healthy and quick breakfast ideas

The American Dietetic Association found that children who eat breakfast have better concentration, problem solving skills, and hand-eye coordination. As a result they are more alert, creative and less likely to miss school. Don't worry if you don't have a lot of time in the a.m. Breakfast doesn't have to take hours.

Here are 5 quick and healthy breakfast ideas you can use to start your childs day off right

Crockpot oatmeal — Start cooking it the night before, and wake up to a delicious meal!

One of my favorite ideas is to make smoothies ahead of time and store them in the freezer. Take them out when you wake up and by the time the kids and you are ready they are nice and thawed out

Scrambling eggs in the microwave means no skillet to clean, and in this single serving, the same dish is used for cooking and eating

English Muffin with Apple Cheddar-A muffin topped with apple and cheese is a nutritious alternative to more sugary fare. Try using a whole-wheat or oat-bran English muffin, or a whole-wheat bagel.

Pancake Roll-ups
Microwave one pre-cooked frozen pancake until warm and soft (about 25-35 seconds). Spread peanut butter and some honey on top of pancake. Place one half a banana in the center of the pancake, rolling the pancake around the banana burrito-style. Serve immediately.

Eating a healthy breakfast is certainly the right way to start the day! Be sure to set a good example for your kids by eating a good breakfast on your way out the door.
